Voter Registration Checklist

  • Correct Name
Make sure your legal name is listed correctly—especially if you’ve recently changed your name due to marriage, divorce, etc.

  • Current Residential Address
Your registration must reflect your current address, especially if you’ve moved within Rockwall County or from another county in Texas.

  • Mailing Address (if different)
Ensure your mailing address is correct if it’s different from your residence—this is important for receiving a ballot by mail.

  • Precinct Information
Verify that your assigned voting precinct is still accurate—it can change with redistricting or after moving.

  • ID Information on File
Texas now requires your voter registration to include either:

    • Your Texas Driver’s License or Personal ID Number, or

    • The last four digits of your Social Security Number
These must match what’s on your registration for mail-in voting

  • Registration Status
Use the Texas Voter Portal or call the county elections office to confirm you’re registered and check if your registration is “active.”
