Party Structure

What is the CEC?

Voters elect the County Chairman and each Precinct Chairman during the Republican Primary Election, which takes place in March of every even-numbered year. Together, they form the County Executive Committee (CEC).

All Republican primary voters in Rockwall County elect the County Chairman. Precinct Chairmen are elected by voters who live within their specific precincts. Additional officers within the CEC are either elected or appointed, based on the committee’s bylaws

Monthly Meetings

2nd Thursday of Every Month

The Rockwall County Republican Party meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month. Meeting dates may be changed by a majority vote of the County Executive Committee, and special meetings may be called in accordance with the CEC’s bylaws. Please note: These meetings are not subject to open records laws, as the County Executive Committee is not classified as a governmental body.

County Party Convention

March - Even Number Years

Because Rockwall County is entirely within one state senate district, the County Executive Committee is responsible for setting the time and location of the County Convention. The convention’s primary purposes are to elect delegates and alternates to the Republican Party of Texas State Convention and to propose resolutions for consideration in the development of the State Platform.
